Why are 121 Financial and VyStar merging?

By joining together, VyStar and 121 Financial will expand access to best-in-class products and services to members, offer enhanced benefits and new opportunities to employees, and amplify our collective impact within our community.

What is the expected timing and process of the merger?

We will continue to communicate updated timelines throughout the process to ensure all employees and members remain fully informed.

Will any 121 Financial or VyStar branches close following the merger?

This merger will expand access for both 121 Financial and VyStar members to branches and locations across Northeast Florida, Central Florida and Georgia. No decisions have been made on changes to branch locations following the merger.  However, our combined commitment is to ensure we maintain best-in-class experiences for our members.

The merger between 121 Financial and VyStar is in the best interest of all members because it brings together the strengths of both credit unions. Our members will benefit from best-in-class products and services that are more accessible than ever before through our network of more than 70 branches across Florida and Georgia (and over 20,000 ATMs across the U.S.). This growth will ensure our continued ability to offer great rates, lower fees, and more personalized service to our members as we help them achieve their financial goals. Additionally, we will be able to offer our members even more perks to many of the most popular attractions in our communities. By combining our resources, we will be able to provide our members with an even better banking experience and strengthen our commitment to the communities we serve.

Will any 121 Financial employees lose their jobs?

No, all 121 Financial employees have been offered employment opportunities at VyStar. We are committed to helping our members achieve their financial goals through personalized service, and our dedicated employees make that possible every day.

What about my direct deposits or Social Security check? Will the 121 Financial routing number change?

Upon completion of the merger, VyStar will assume the 121 Financial routing number. There will be no interruption to direct deposits, including Social Security checks.


Can I go to a VyStar Credit Union Branch to get money?

All 121 Financial cards will be surcharge-free in VyStar ATMs. VyStar branch employees will not be able to perform transactions until all the accounts are converted to the VyStar systems. This is anticipated to happen fall of 2024.

What is the expected timing and process of the merger?


We expect system conversations to be completed by fall of 2024. We will continue to communicate updated timelines throughout the process to ensure all employees and members remain fully informed.
